This course has been designed to support teachers that are, or will soon be, taking on a mentoring role in school, this could be mentoring a Newly Qualified Teacher, an initial teacher trainee or any new member of staff.
Whether you are new to the role of mentoring, need a refresher or would like to further develop your skills, this course will help you to reflect on the key skills for mentoring and coaching and develop strategies to support you to be more effective when both mentoring and coaching.
This course is being delivered in partnership with the University of Warwick.
Session 1: Wednesday 11th July 2018 (13:00 – 16:00)
This session will focus on introducing and developing the key skills for mentoring and coaching. We will be exploring the different but complimentary nature of coaching and mentoring and developing strategies and techniques.
Session 2: TBC – November 2018
We will be coming back together after colleagues have had chance to “try out” some of their mentoring and coaching skills to reflect on how effective this has been and further develop these skills.
