Talk for Writing Across the Curriculum led by Pie Corbett
This interactive conference will demonstrate how Talk for Writing has been used successfully across the curriculum in primary schools. Pie will illustrate the Talk for Writing process, showing how it can be adapted to suit the language patterns and thought processes o any subject.
To make progress in any subject, pupils need the relevant language patterns to think and express themselves. Talk for Writing can be a game changer in terms of raising standards across the curriculum.
Pie Corbett is an inspirational trainer, poet, author and editor of over 250 books. A former head teacher, lecturer and English inspector, he is widely known for developing the transformational ‘Talk for Writing’ approach.
Pie unlocks children’s creativity and writing skills through the art of storytelling. He is also a champion of the importance of teaching grammar in context.
Pie recognises that the ability to tell a story, together with a strong grasp of how language works, provides a springboard to becoming a good writer.
