Science Leaders’ Conference 2017
Brought to you in association with:
Following the success of our 2016 Science Subject Leaders Conference, we will be hosting another event to give Science leaders access to more innovative practice and an opportunity to network with peers from across the county and beyond.
The event will be led by colleagues Debbie Eccles and Eleanor Atkinson from Primarily Science, who will be focusing on:
Making Links Between the Core Subjects
Do you find that science sometimes plays Cinderella to the ugly sisters of mathematics and literacy? Learn how to incorporate all three core subjects in an effective, engaging, creative and cross-curricular way.
Enhancing science using QR Codes
QR codes are everywhere. You see them on your box of cornflakes and at the bus stop but how can we use this free technology to enhance our science lessons?
Science from a shoe box on a Shoestring
Lack of storage and the expense can be real barriers to teaching great science. This session is packed with low cost, small scale practical ideas and activities for teaching primary Science.
Fun ways to record in science
Results, method, conclusion? Not here! Avoid ‘death by write-up’ and introduce yourself to more interesting ways to record in science.
During the afternoon we will also hear from colleagues from the Association for Science Education who will be bringing us up to date with the latest news in primary science from around the country.
Debbie Eccles – Debbie started her career as a primary teacher and left a deputy head’s role to become a primary science teacher adviser for Lancashire LA.
