Developing Pupils’ Understanding of Essential Maths – moving from superficial to secure understanding led by Vivien Townsend

Although the curriculum has changed, these aspects of mathematics continue to be problematic for many learners.
This whole day course for Teaching Assistants will focus on how these aspects of mathematics can be taught so that understanding becomes secure. The course is therefore appropriate for KS1 TAs who are supporting pupils to meet national expectations, and is also appropriate for those Teaching Assistants who are supporting lower attainers in KS2 who may be struggling because of gaps in their learning relating to the course content.
