Supporting the Development of Reading – What We Do Makes a Difference led by Jennifer Cotton
This session will enable teaching assistants to consider, and develop, how they contribute to the development of pupils’ reading. It will cover best practice to support progress with reading accuracy and also reading comprehension.
Teaching Assistants will be supplied with electronic versions of some useful resources; these materials can be used freely only within the participating school.
It would be useful for colleagues attending to bring a small selection of the reading books they usually work with in their classrooms.
PLEASE NOTE: This event is a repeat of the 2016-17 session.
Jennifer Cotton has been specialising in teaching pupils with special educational needs (SEN) for over 20 years. She has a Masters level qualification in SEN and she also has additional specialist qualifications in assessing and teaching learners with dyslexia.
