We have had a very busy and exciting term during which we have lead more than 20 events involving more than 750 school staff!! Feedback from our events has been great with 98% of delegates rating these events as good or excellent.
Our four subject conferences have been a particular success. Professor Debra Myhill inspired us to think creatively about Grammar at our English Conference back on the 11th November and then Dr Tina Rae gave our SENCo’s lots of food for thought regarding supporting our children that have specific social and emotional needs at our SENCo Conference on the 16th November.
This was followed by our very first Science Conference on the 23rd November which was run in partnership with the Association for Science Education and the University of Warwick. We had 3 fantastic speakers that brought science to life with lots of practical ideas and thoughts around assessment.
On the 9th December Sami Miller joined us to lead our Maths Conference, sponsored by Oxford University Press. Sami shared practical ideas to bring maths to life in the classroom.
Early Years colleagues had an unforgettable day with Shonette Bason-Wood at our autumn term Early Years Conference. Shonette shared a wealth of exciting ideas to develop Maths and English across the early years and kept us thoroughly engaged and entertained in her inimitable style!
We also launched our Maths and English subject leader networks across Walsall this term, working in partnership with St John’s Primary School, Walsall. We are looking forward to continuing to develop this work into 2017 and beyond.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and wish you a very Happy New Year.
