EVENT TITLE:

Planning in the Moment led by Anna Ephgrave

DATE: Wednesday 1st May 2019

TIME: 09:30-15:30

EVENT OVERVIEW:

Plan flexibly around the children, without sacrificing Outstanding practice:

  • Learn to work in the moment with young children
  • Clear guidelines on the role of the adult
  • Discover a new way of working that will still deliver the required outcomes
  • Understand why child-initiated play, planned in the moment, will deliver the best possible outcomes
  • Reflect on Ofsted requirements and how these can be met through child-initiated play

Worry about the impact, not the planning…

  • Why playing is the best way for children to learn
  • Alter your role in the classroom – follow the child, don’t lead
  • How to remain observant, fascinated and ready to ‘teach’
  • How to plan constantly and responsively for each child

Deliver deeper levels of involvement in the classroom…

  • Explore how child-initiated play improves participation
  • Construct the appropriate environment to support child-initiated play
  • Consider the role of the adult within this environment
  • Discover how you can optimise your teaching
  • Unpick the paperwork used to record teaching
  • Understand why outcomes are more important than planning
