High Quality Teaching for Children with Special Educational Needs

This event is being led by Una Lodge – Senior Lecturer for SEN and Inclusion (University of Northampton)

DATE: Thursday 9th May 2019 (NEW rearranged date)

TIME: 13:30-16:30


This practical session will:

  • enable NQTs to understand their role in implementing what the SEN/D Code of Practice calls the Graduated Approach to removing barriers to learning and putting effective provision in place for pupils with SEN in their class.
  • provide an overview of key strategies for differentiation that can enable students with SEN to have the best possible chance of learning.
  • signpost teachers to further resources to support their understanding of the common areas of SEN & strategies for support


This event is free to those schools who subscribe to the Gateway Alliance – core offer for NEW & RECENTLY TEACHERS.

There is one place available per subscription. Additional places may be booked at a cost of £70 per person.  Non-subscribing schools may attend, subject to availability, at a cost of £110 per person. Invoices to be paid prior to the event.
