Attachment and Trauma Friendly Schools led by Stuart Guest

During the day, our facilitator Stuart Guest will look at how schools can improve outcomes for pupils and their families through trauma and attachment informed policies and practice.
He will explore a range of trauma and attachment friendly practice, facilitate practical group work around relationships, regulation approaches, dealing with behaviour and the PACE approach as well as providing time for SENCos to consider relevant school policy changes and plan for how they can make a difference back in school
Aspects of practice that Stuart will explore on the day include:
Stuart Guest has over 11 years’ experience as a headteacher and is a father of birth and adopted children. He has developed trauma friendly approaches at his school and has seen the positive impact these can have on pupils, families, staff and outcomes for his school. alongside his headship, Stuart trains schools and give talks and interviews about education in relation to children who are adopted, have attachment difficulties or experienced trauma or adverse childhood experiences. He delivers college and university lectures and works with local authorities and virtual schools to help train and support designated teachers, SENCOs, senior leadership and those working with children.
This event is free to those schools who subscribe to the Gateway Alliance – core offer for SEN.
There is one place available per subscribing school. Additional places may be booked at a cost of £105 per person. Non-subscribing schools may attend, subject to availability, at a cost of £180 per person. Invoices to be paid prior to the event.
