Supporting Writing in the Primary Classroom led by Rachel Clarke

Delivered by experienced trainer and education writer, Rachel Clarke, this course aims to improve the confidence of Teaching Assistants so that they can better support children with their writing. This active course includes practical approaches to helping children with handwriting, planning, drafting, proof- reading and editing their writing.
Whether you work with individual pupils, small groups or a whole class, you will access materials that will be relevant to your role and enable pupils to progress.
Rachel Clarke has worked in and with primary schools as a teacher, SENCo, Deputy Head and for five years as a Local Authority English consultant. Rachel is a motivational trainer who facilitates the improved understanding, knowledge and skills of others.
Rachel is an advocate of collaborative approaches to professional learning and specialises in raising standards in English through CPD; providing school improvement support for leadership teams; creating bespoke support for teachers; and, developing guidance materials for teachers in Coventry, Warwickshire and beyond. Rachel is a keen blogger, writer of educational materials and user of social media – all of which are utilised to connect teachers within the ‘Primary English’ learning community.
This event is free to those schools who subscribe to the Gateway Alliance – core offer CPD programme for TEACHING ASSISTANTS.
There is one place available per subscription. Additional places may be booked at a cost of £50 per person. Non-subscribing schools may attend, subject to availability, at a cost of £65 per person. Invoices to be paid prior to the event.
