Curriculum CPD – Design & Technology
From Ideas to Impact: Strengthening Design & Technology Through Practical Projects
Led by Hepp DT
This hands-on training session will build staff confidence in planning and delivering high-quality D&T sequences. We will explore progression statements to ensure clear skill development across year groups and embed the design, make, and evaluate cycle effectively.
Staff will take part in two engaging practical activities:
+ KS1: Moving Vehicle with Trailer
+ KS2: LED Night Light
These activities will provide opportunities to use tools safely and understand how to integrate assessment into D&T lessons. We will also demonstrate simple ways to incorporate CAD and Control into projects, making them more engaging and relevant to modern technology.
By the end of the session, staff will feel more equipped to deliver inspiring D&T lessons that develop creativity, problem-solving, and technical skills in their children.
