This course is being run over 2 sessions:

Session 1 (ONLINE) – Understanding how to embed Computer Aided Design into Primary D&T lessons

Overview: During the session we will explore the following:

  • What is CAD?
  • How to implement CAD into your DT units or projects
  • Using software to develop products that are 2Dimensional
  • Using software to develop products that are 3Dimensional

The session will allow you to up skill in being able to use two different types of software to create products that can be embedded into your D&T units of work or projects.

In order to access the session you will need a laptop/PC or MacBook with the following software downloaded:

 

Session 2 (ONLINE) – Effectively delivering and leading ‘Design’ as a key concept 

Based on the feedback from colleagues at the 1st session, the focus for session 2 will be effectively delivering and leading ‘Design’ as a key concept. During this session we will revisit the key principles in leading the D&T curriculum. We will look holistically at ‘Design’ as a key concept and how that can be effectively embedded into your curriculum to support in showing progression in learning from EYFS to Key Stage 2. We will then reflect on how we can lead others in driving the quality of the D&T curriculum.

This course is being run over 2 sessions:

SESSION 1: Tuesday 5th October 2021 (13:00-15:30) – ONLINE

SESSION 2: Monday 14th February 2022 (13:00-15:30) – ONLINE

We will be using Zoom (online video conferencing software) to host this online event. If you have not used Zoom previously, you may need to download the Zoom software either to a laptop, PC, tablet or smartphone, prior to joining. When you have booked your place a link will be emailed to you, within 48 hours of the webinar, with further instructions about how to join the event.

The session will also be recorded and afterwards an edited version will be shared with those schools that have booked a place.
