Innovative approaches to teaching history

Led by Stuart Tiffany (Mr T)

Overview

During this conference, Stuart (aka Mr T does Primary History) will be sharing innovative approaches to introducing children to the past in EYFS and history teaching across the Key Stage 1. In particular, this will focus on how teachers can utilise storytelling to support children’s understanding of the abstract worlds of the past. How interacting with replica artefacts can be done in different ways to consider their purpose and how they may benefit the people at the time. Throughout, Stuart will connect these approaches to effective historical pedagogy and developing children’s critical thinking as part of the methods historical enquiry.
