Curriculum CPD – Modern Foreign Language
Leading a Rich Languages Curriculum in the Primary School.
Led by Ellie Chettle Cully
Overview
This course will be run over 2 online sessions, delegates should attend both sessions.
Participate in two tailored online sessions led by Ellie Chettle-Cully, meticulously designed to cater to your MFL leadership requirements.
Session 1:
Leading languages in primary schools can be a challenge, given differing levels of teacher confidence and a full timetable. In this first session we will focus on encouraging and supporting non-specialists in the primary classroom, with a particular focus on teaching phonics and designing a knowledge-rich curriculum.
Session 2:
Following on from our first session, we will continue to explore how to sequence learning over the four years of Key Stage 2 language learning, with practical advice on developing long-term planning and opportunities for collaborative discussion. We will also explore how we can make languages fun and accessible in Key Stage 1.
This course is being run over 2 sessions. Delegates are expected to ATTEND BOTH SESSIONS.
The sessions are taking place as follows:
SESSION 1: Thursday, 3 April 2025 (13:00-15:30)
SESSION 2: Wednesday, 8 May 2025 (13:00-15:30)
