Curriculum CPD – PSHE

This course will be run over 2 online sessions.

SESSION 1: Impact of effective PSHE on behaviour, well-being and attainment

This online course delivered by Coram Life Education & SCARF will provide delegates with evidence-informed, key principles for embedding a whole-school approach to PSHE.

This course has been specially designed for PSHE leaders to develop knowledge and understanding of the key principles of effective PSHE education and the crucial role that PSHE education plays in children’s behaviour, well-being and attainment.

This course will:

  • Introduce key principles for a whole-school approach to PSHE with a focus on the role of PSHE leaders in the implementation of key components
  • Discuss how the DfE statutory requirements for RSHE are integral to the PSHE curriculum
  • Give practical steps to meeting Ofsted’s expectations for Personal Development (including SMSC)
  • Highlight effective strategies to support staff in their confidence and skills to deliver PSHE

The training will include the provision of two toolkits; one of which will support PSHE leads to carry out a self-audit of their current approach to PSHE and the other will provide them with access to an online self-evaluation template which will provide practical steps to meeting Ofsted’s expectations for Personal Development (including SMSC).
