Curriculum CPD – PSHE
This course will be run over 2 online sessions, delegates should attend both sessions.
SESSION 1: Delivering Inclusive PSHE Education: Contributing to All Learners’ Mental Health and Well-being
This online course delivered by Coram Life Education & SCARF will provide delegates with a greater understanding of Ofsted expectations in relation to the teaching of the protected characteristics as well as provide a valuable opportunity to share and learn from teaching colleagues in regard to the assessment and evidencing PSHE.

This training includes access to an online self-evaluation template (Ofsted tool on SCARF) which will provide practical steps to meeting Ofsted’s expectations for Personal Development (including SMSC) and our PSHE Whole-school Approach toolkit.

This training includes a practice development activity where attendees are invited to share and discuss assessment tools in the session and after, providing an opportunity for attendees to learn from each other and develop good practices.

SESSION 2: RSHE: everything you need to know about engaging parents in creating a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
This two- and half-hour online course delivered by Coram Life Education & SCARF will provide delegates with time and space to truly reflect on their school’s approach to Relationships and Sex Education (RSE), with a focus on parent and pupil engagement to ensure each school meets the needs of its community.

By booking a place on this course, you will secure 1 place on each of the 2 sessions.
We will be using Zoom (online video conferencing software) to host this online event. If you have not used Zoom previously, you may need to download the Zoom software either to a laptop, PC, tablet or smartphone, prior to joining. When you have booked your place a link will be emailed to you, within 48 hours of the webinar, with further instructions about how to join the event.

Lisa Handy
Lisa Handy is a highly experienced RSE Educator, Trainer and Consultant. She has over 20 years’ experience within the primary and secondary RSE field, having previously worked for Brook, the NHS, National Children’s Bureau and is a past Sex Education Forum Co-ordinator.
As Coram Life education’s RSHE Training and Programme Manager, she now leads teaching training courses that enable schools to implement high-quality provision for PSHE (including statutory RSHE) and also meet Ofsted expectations within the Personal Development judgement.
Jan Forshaw MBE
Jan is the Head of Education for Coram Life Education and responsible for managing and developing the education services, including their content, strategic direction and evaluation.
Jan oversees SCARF and its effectiveness in embedding a whole-school approach to children’s physical and emotional wellbeing. Her earlier career was as a teacher in middle and primary schools, including senior leadership roles.
On Thursday 20th April 2023, Jan Forshaw received her MBE as part of the New Year’s Honours of King Charles III in recognition of her incredible service to Life Education during Covid.
