Our English Network termly development meetings provide an opportunity for subject leaders to come together to:

• Find out about the latest national news, updates and research;
• Develop their skills & knowledge;
• Learn from new & innovative practice and
• Network with colleagues to share and develop their practice.

A full agenda will be shared nearer the time.

We will be running our local network meetings in a range of locations across the year and there will also be an online option.

DATE: Wednesday, 24 April 2024

TIME: 09:00-11:30

LOCATION: ONLINE – ZOOM meeting (a link will be sent out a week before)

OR

DATE: Wednesday, 24 April 2024

TIME: 13:30-16:30

LOCATION: Trident Centre (part of Warwickshire College), Trident Park, Poseidon Way, Royal Leamington Spa, Warwick CV34 6SW

OR

DATE: Wednesday, 1 May 2024

TIME: 13:30-16:30

LOCATION: Walsall/Wolverhampton venue TBC

 

COST: £115 for non-subscribing schools

Schools who subscribe to the Gateway Alliance – ENGLISH subject leader network have 1 FREE place per school. 

Costs will be incurred for additional places and for schools that do not subscribe. Please contact us for details.

Ruth Baker-Leask

Ruth is our English Network Leader and is an experienced consultant who has been leading successful Literacy and English CPD for 20 years.  Former Primary Head Teacher, Ruth provides support to schools and other organisations within the education sector.

She is currently the chair of the National Association of the Advisors of English (NAAE), an associate consultant for the National Literacy Trust, and an associate teacher for the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education (CLPE). Ruth’s knowledge of the curriculum and children’s literature and her passion for the teaching of English inspires all with whom she works.
