Introducing Geography and History in the Early Years Led by David Weatherly & Sheena Wright
The Early Years Foundation Stage reforms to the Understanding the World educational programme, together with the new Past and Present and People, Culture and Communities Early Learning Goals have accentuated the need to establish strong and identifiable Geography and History provision at the foundation stage. The day will provide timely and valuable support for EYFS and Geography and History leads and members of SMT seeking to clarify their understanding and manage the implementation of the revised learning and development and assessment requirements for Geography and History in the EYFS.

David Weatherly
David Weatherly is a School Improvement Adviser and an accomplished teacher with an international reputation as an inspiring trainer. Whether working in schools or at CPD events he always models practical and achievable approaches to improving engagement and outcomes of pupils.
He is author of the award winning Primary Connected Geography and Primary Connected History schemes published by Harper Collins and he teaches at all stages of learning regularly.
David will be joined by EYFS Education Consultant and School Improvement Adviser Sheena Wright, who will be co-facilitating this session. Sheena is a former local authority Early Years Lead Adviser with over twenty years of successful teaching experience across the full primary age range.
