This session is brought to you by Gateway Alliance, working in partnership with the East Midlands Academy Trust.

Join us for an exclusive conference led by Wayne Harris, a distinguished attendance leader with a remarkable track record in enhancing attendance rates within both Primary and Secondary school settings. With over a decade of experience, Wayne’s expertise has propelled him to the forefront of attendance improvement strategies.

Wayne is spearheading Inclusive Attendance, his ground-breaking professional development programme aimed at empowering schools to foster a culture of everyone being responsible for school attendance.

The session will be split into 3 parts:

  • Part 1: The Post-Pandemic World – Explore the post-pandemic challenges faced by schools, children, and families. Delve into research insights from renowned bodies like the Education Endowment Foundation, Ofsted, and the Department of Education guidance, all focused on enhancing attendance in educational institutions.
  • Part 2: Exploring the Attendance Professional Development Modules – Dive into the six Learning Modules of the Attendance Professional Development Model. Gain insights into why each module is crucial for improved attendance outcomes, how to implement them effectively, and what positive changes you can expect within your school environment.
  • Part 3: Creating a New Culture – Learn to transition from a traditional ‘top-down’ leadership approach to a culture where everyone shares responsibility for school attendance.
