Primary Cognitive Science

Due to popular demand we are running a 2nd cohort of this online, modular programme for Primary practitioners, brought to you by Staffordshire Research School & Gateway Alliance.

Applied Cognitive Science: Evidence into Practice

Through this online programme, based on robust research & evidence, participants will explore…

  • What does the research say?
  • What are the implications for my planning?
  • Examples, case studies & avoidances
  • A chance for reflection – What do I need to do more of & less of to apply these principles of research?
  • So how do I strategically put this evidence to work to give it the best chance of success?

This modular programme is being run over 5 sessions. For dates see next tab.

Feedback from a Headteacher whose staff previously completed the programme:

“After taking part in the Gateway Alliance Cognitive Science programme, our staff felt much more knowledgeable and empowered to use cognitive science approaches in the classroom which has had a real impact on pupil progress and attainment in all year groups. Staff knowledge of this practice has gone from 1 or 2, on the pre training quiz, to 9 or 10 which has enabled us to implement this research-based evidence into our teaching and learning principles.”

(Sian Mabberley – Headteacher at Chilvers Coton Community School & Nursery)

Jade has worked with teachers and leaders in many schools to embed this approach into their teaching and has generously shared her strategies, resources and model examples of how research translated into practical pedagogy. As a result, school leaders, teachers and more importantly students across the country have benefited from Jade’s work.
