The Gateway Alliance School Business Manager (SBM) network offers business managers an opportunity to access professional development focused specifically on their role and facilitated by an independent expertPhilippa Ollerhead – along with the opportunity to network with colleagues.

During each session we will look at the latest news and updates for business managers – including a national funding update, the latest from Ofsted and news from the DfE Schools Commercial Team.  Philippa will also facilitate a regular collaborative working session in order to share best practice and provide an opportunity for colleagues to network with each other. We will also be inviting guest speakers and/or relevant companies to come and share key information with the group, based on the needs and suggestions of colleagues within the network.

During 2021-22 we will be looking at the following specialist topics:
  • Budget setting for a 3 year budget
  • Planning for a range of scenarios
  • Managing level 1 HR issues
  • SBM – career aspirations – what is next for you?
  • MAT trial agreements

A more specific agenda will be available nearer the time.

DATE: Wednesday 9th February 2022

TIME: 09:30-11:30am

COST: £70 per person (for non-subscribing schools)

We will be using Zoom (online video conferencing software) to host this online event. If you have not used Zoom previously, you may need to download the Zoom software either to a laptop, PC, tablet or smartphone, prior to joining. When you have booked your place a link will be emailed to you, within 48 hours of the webinar, with further instructions about how to join the event.

Philippa Ollerhead

Philippa is a highly experienced consultant, trainer & adviser, she has particular expertise in teaching & learning, leadership & management and pre & post-OFSTED support. Philippa has over 30 years experience in education, with 16 years at senior leadership level and most recently was Education Services Director for Judicium Education.

Philippa is also experienced at leading & managing whole organisation pastoral care, human resources & finance. She is a training partner for the National Association of Headteachers delivering courses for Head teachers across the country, in subjects such as safeguarding, Ofsted preparation, financial viability and MAT structures. She is also a trainer for the National Association of School Business Managers (SBM) and supports and advises SBM networks across the country.
