Our SENCo Network termly development meetings provide an opportunity for SENCos to come together to:

• Find out about the latest national news and updates;
• Develop their skills & knowledge;
• Learn from new & innovative practice and
• Network with colleagues to share and develop their practice.

At this term’s SENCo Network and Development Meeting, we will begin with National Updates including the work of the Change Partners across the country who are currently trialling various elements of the DfE’s SEND and AP Improvement Plan. Also included will be updates from Ofsted, NASEN, latest research and links to new SEND guidance and resources. You will also receive a National Updates Briefing Paper which you can share with SLT and your SEND Governor.

We will then have 2 main areas of focus for the session:

  • Supporting children with ASC/ADHD within less structured foundation subject lessons. This presentation is designed for you as a training ‘take-away’ to use with class teachers/subject leads back at your school.
  • Finding meaningful and manageable opportunities to listen to the views, wishes and experiences of children with SEND through the Graduated Approach and at key points in the school life such as transition and Annual Reviews.

Join us for the usual networking, support and discussions too.

We will be running our local network meetings in a range of locations across the year and there will also be an online option.
