In this session, Nick invites delegates to reimagine school improvement planning by embracing the tension between complexity and simplicity; schools are complex yet the work we do to improve them needs clarity of thought and communication. Drawing on complexity science and systems thinking, this session will guide delegates to critique our thinking process for how we plan for school improvement, considering the rhythm of a school year, the anatomy of a school improvement plan and ways in which this complex thinking can be simply recorded and communicated for different purposes.
