SUMMER TERM – SESSION TITLE: Creating your School’s Climate Action Plan

Join us for our 2 hour online Summer Network meeting, led by Jo Pettifer from ‘Let’s go Zero’, during which we will delve deeper into empowering schools to lead the way towards a more sustainable future.

We’re excited to invite you to the upcoming session of our Summer Sustainability Network, where we will dive into the Department for Education’s (DfE) sustainability and climate change strategy for education – Climate Action Plans.

As per the DfE’s directive, by 2025, all education settings are required to implement a Climate Action Plan. To help you navigate this initiative effectively, we have partnered with Let’s Go Zero. Jo Pettifer, Climate Action Team Leader Midlands, will provide insights into the DfE guidance and assist you in drafting your School’s Climate Action Plan.

Additionally, we are thrilled to welcome Edd Moore, Teacher and Eco Coordinator at Dammers First School, who will share their experiences, effective practices, and lessons learned in implementing sustainability initiatives. This will provide valuable insights and opportunities for peer-to-peer learning and networking.

During this session, you will learn:

  • The DfE requirements for 2025
  • The essential elements and practical guidance on crafting a robust Climate Action Plan that you can then tailor to your educational setting’s needs
  • Be equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to drive sustainable leadership within your school and influence positive change in your community
  • Share opportunities to network and share effective practice

We believe that by coming together as a community, we can amplify our impact and work towards a more sustainable future for our schools and beyond. We hope you’ll join us for this informative and collaborative session.
