Sustainability Leads Network

Our Sustainability Leads Network is FREE for all schools and, working in partnership with ‘Let’s go Zero‘, our sessions will bring schools access to the latest information, updates, resources and best practice, alongside invaluable opportunities to network with colleagues in schools across the region.

What to expect across the year…
Embedding Sustainability into Learning

We meet termly, primarily online, and through these network meetings we will support schools, wherever they are on their sustainability journey, with latest DfE updates, support in creating and implementing an impactful Climate Action Plan, sharing case studies and lots of ideas, tools and resources.

We are delighted to be working in partnership with ‘Let’s Go Zero’ to bring schools access to the latest information, updates and best practice from schools around the country. As well as providing valuable opportunities for you to network with other colleagues in schools across the region.

During the year we will be bringing together speakers, both from within and outside of education, as well as hearing from experienced school Sustainability Leaders to share practical ideas and proven approaches.

All network meeting resources, recordings and useful links are made available to network members and their schools, via our online resource hub housed on our website. All network members receive personal access to this area to ensure that they can access resources quickly and easily throughout the year.

To demonstrate our commitment to sustainability and climate change we will be offering these network meetings completely FREE for schools.

Embedding Sustainability into Learning means integrating environmental awareness, sustainable practices, and climate education into everyday teaching across subjects. It goes beyond standalone lessons on sustainability by weaving eco-conscious thinking into the curriculum, school culture, and decision-making.

For example:

  • In Science – Teaching about climate change, renewable energy, and ecosystems.
  • In Geography – Exploring the impact of human activity on the environment.
  • In Maths – Using real-world data on carbon footprints or energy use for problem-solving.
  • In English – Analysing texts with environmental themes or encouraging persuasive writing on sustainability topics.
  • In Design & Technology – Encouraging sustainable materials and eco-friendly product design.

Beyond lessons, it also includes fostering sustainable behaviours in schools, such as reducing waste, promoting active travel, and involving students in green initiatives, ultimately empowering young people to become responsible global citizens.
