Gateway Alliance is stepping into Summer with style with more sensational CPD events.

Our English, Maths and SENCo Networks conclude 2022-23 with their network development meetings which have have been shaped by feedback on arising needs from our network members. This term’s sessions will be in South Warwickshire (Warwick Trident Centre), Burton, Staffordshire (John Taylor High School) and an online option (recorded). A selection of dates are available where networks will share and develop their practice and:

  • Explore the latest national news, updates and research
  • Develop their skills & knowledge;
  • Learn from new & innovative practice
  • Network with colleagues to share and develop their practice

Our Maths Network is really looking forward to welcoming Ian Taylor as the Maths Network Lead. Ian is the National Leader for Mathematics and Numeracy at Academies Enterprise Trust and started teaching in one of the country’s most challenging schools based in one of the country’s most deprived towns. Ian thoroughly enjoyed the role of engaging extremely challenging young people to understanding the importance of learning and achieving mathematical success. Ian has supported primary and secondary schools throughout the country since 2007 sharing his models of leadership and teaching and we look forward to welcoming him to Gateway Alliance this term.

Ruth Swailes is set to lead our final online Early Years Leaders’ Network Meeting of 2023-24 on Monday 6th June which will explore the latest in the world of Early Years and arising issues based on feedback from our network.

History and Geography Subject Leaders will be joined by David Weatherly on Friday 17th May as he explores Writing High Quality Enquiries in History and Geography:  EYFS – Year 6′.

Delegates at our Spring Curriculum CPD Geography event on Sustainability expressed:

  • ‘Great, engaging presenter; useful resources shared throughout and extensive online resources.’
  • ‘Lots of interesting things to think about that I have never heard about or thought of before in terms of sustainability!’
  • ‘Super examples of sustainability enquiries that can be applied throughout the school.’

 

Our Senior Leader Network welcomes Nick Hart on Tuesday 23rd May to the final Thinkpiece webinar of the year: Primary Leadership – What is actually happening in our schools and how good is it?  Nick will be sharing insights from his latest books and blogs exploring topics that are pertinent to primary school leaders today. 

This webinar concludes our Thinkpiece aspect of the Senior Leaders’ Network before we meet again in person on Friday 23rd June at our flagship Senior Leaders’ Conference. This conference is our way to say thank you to Senior Leaders in recognition of all that they do for our children and school communities. This event provides valuable time out to reflect and to learn. Our aim is for all to leave enthused and inspired with a collection of ideas to share with staff teams  to develop their children’s bright futures.
